The annual station open day will be held on Saturday 23 June 2012. RNLI Lifeboat B842, Hello Herbie will be available for viewing. Stormy Stan, the Lifeboat Mascot will also be attending the event
Through out the day, there will be rescue demonstrations carried out in the river (depending on operational availability). Dungeness RNLI All Weather Lifeboat will be visiting the station where visitors can have a tour of the Lifeboat.
This year the RNLI Sea Safety officer will be on hand to check lifejackets and give general safety advice to the sailing / boating community. There will be food and refreshment, a raffle, tombola, bric-a-brac stall, and the RNLI souvenirs.
Richard Tollett, RNLI Lifeboat Operations Manager at Rye Harbour RNLI Lifeboat, said: ‘This is a great chance to come and see what happens at the station. You can meet the crew, station personel and some members of the fundraising team.’
Steve Tollett, Chairman Rye Harbour RNLI Lifeboat Management Group, said: ‘This event is for the whole family, plus you can get free Sea Safety advice.’
